Joseph A. Allen

Joseph Allen has ties to Ottawa County as a Minneapolis High School graduate in 1983. Joseph then went to Washburn College and graduated with Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science is 1987. He then went on to Washburn Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1990.

Prior to opening up his private practice in Minneapolis, he worked briefly at the Saline County Attorney’s office and the North Central Kansas Regional Public Defender’s office. He started private practice in 1994 and purchased the office in Minneapolis from Richard Comfort in 1995.

C. Richard Comfort, Esquire

C. Richard Comfort, Esquire is a graduate of Minneapolis High School (1974), Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas (1978) (B.A.), Wichita State University (1978) (A.A.) and Washburn Law School (1981) (J.D.).

Richard opened a law office in Minneapolis, Kansas in 1983 and served as Ottawa County Attorney from 1985 to 1997. In 1997, he sold his office to Joseph A. Allen, and later moved his practice to Concordia, Kansas where he handled litigation for the firm of Condray & Comfort, LLC. In 2007, he took a position with the State of Kansas in the office of the Public Defender at Salina, Kansas. He retired from that position on December 31, 2020. Richard came back to the firm in 2021 and handles mainly juvenile offender and child in need of care matters.

Charles C. Lindberg

Prior to joining Allen & Associates law firm in 2017 Charles Lindberg was a sheriff deputy for 8 years. Charles graduated from Washburn Law School and was admitted to the bar in February, 2017 but has been working with the firm since 2016.

Charles has two master’s degrees, a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s of Liberal Studies in Rural Advocacy. Charles practices mainly in the criminal defense field but handles a wide range of cases.

Torrance Parkins

Torrance Parkins is a native of McPherson, Kansas and graduated McPherson High School in 2006. Torrance attended the University of Kansas, completing a B.A. in Political Science in 2010 and graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2013.

Torrance has practiced law in central Kansas since 2013 in a variety of fields, but primarily criminal law. Torrance managed a private practice in McPherson until he was elected as the McPherson County Attorney in 2015 in a special election. He served as the elected County Attorney for over two years, prosecuting cases from littering to 1st degree murder, before leaving to experience civil litigation with Gilliland Green, LLC in Hutchinson, KS.


Torrance returned to the McPherson County Attorney’s Office in 2021 to be closer to home and his growing family. In 2023, Torrance joined Allen & Associates Law to focus his litigation and trial experience on defending those accused of criminal offenses.

Alex Driskell

Alex Driskell attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL, graduating with a B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice Sciences in 2015. He then moved to Lawrence to attend law school at KU, where he met his wife Laurel Michel-Driskell. They graduated in 2018 and moved to Salina where he briefly worked for Great Plains Manufacturing until February 2019 when he was hired by the Saline County Attorney’s office. Driskell joined Allen & Associates firm January 3, 2022.
